On 17 March 2015, the Czech Dutch Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) in cooperation with the Dutch law firm De Koning Vergouwen Advocaten (DKVA) hosted a legal seminar. The seminar, whose umbrella topics were International Sale of Goods and Legal aspects of trade with the Netherlands, was officially opened by H.E. Mrs. Jana Reinišová, Czech Ambassador in the Netherlands. The seminar was attended by several CDCC members and other entrepreneurs and managers interested in or doing business with the Czech Republic.

The topic of international sale of goods, referred to as The Vienna Convention, versus sale of goods based on Dutch law was introduced by Brigitte Vanatova from DKVA. Brigitte in her law practice successfully dealt with many cases and disputes related to this issue and could enrich the theoretic interpretation of the treaty with many practical tips and examples. Vanatova is attorney in DKVA in Amsterdam, specialized in real estate law and contract/trade law.

Michiel Verwijs, from DKVA, focused on the crucial aspects of the Dutch contract law. He emphasized the basics of the Dutch contract law, provided attendants of the seminar with valuable and practically based advice how to conclude a contract and underlined its key elements. He also briefly introduced general terms and conditions and the issue of disputes and legal remedies.

Interactive, enthusiastic, friendly and informative– that is how the seminar was experienced by the attendees.
