Startups from Central Europe scored in Rotterdam

Startups from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland and Slovakia gathered during a matchmaking conference in Rotterdam on 28th of March to introduce themselves and possibly find interested investors.

The event was organized by the Embassy of Slovak Republic in The Hague in cooperation with the Embassies of the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland (the Visegrad Group countries) as well as the Czech Dutch Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) and AXS Markets.

During the conference 5 startups from each country had an opportunity to present their company, innovative ideas and products. Each startup had allocated precisely seven minutes including time to questions.

The Czech Republic was represented by:

– Engeto – a coding school with online and offline trainings in the IT field
– The Hybrid Company – tools for interactive, targeted and personalized advertising for TV
broadcasters
– Kooperace.cz – online matchmaking marketplace in the mechanical engineering sector
– Statusoid – intelligent website monitoring solutions
– ThreatMark – anti-fraud and cyber threat detecting solutions for data protection.

Slovakia was represented by:

– Agrobotix – autonomous vegetable cultivating smart robot
– Carrivederci – B2B and peer-to-peer car-sharing service provider
– Planeat – nutrition B2B app for medical and nutrition specialists
– Songoroo – online music playing platform
– Solved – online advisory platform in sustainability domain

A jury, consisting of representatives of the CDCC, CzechTrade Benelux, Taxperience, Dutch investment bank NIBC and several investors, evaluated participating startups based on innovativeness, sustainability, possibility to grow into a successful business, value for money for investors as well as clarity of their business vision, quality of the presentation and other aspects. Based on these indicators a winner from each country and an overall winner were selected. The overall winner has become ThreatMark from the Czech Republic.

Vladimira van Aarle and Katerina Veliskova from the CDCC delivered a closing speech encouraging the startups to seek for support within their network, keep on doing what they believe it and never give up even despite possible setbacks and challenges.

Many of these ideas will help make lives of people easier, safer, more interactive and some even can contribute to a more sustainable world,” commented Katerina Veliskova, Executive Director, CDCC.
